Size Name:AWG 11 (2x4mm²) - 5m  |  Colour:Transparaent DCSk loudspeaker cable 5 m (2 x 4 mm²) The processing of high-quality materials makes our speaker cable extremely robust and flexible. In addition, the pure, full copper cable has an extreme conductivity and transmission capability due to its OFC copper wires, which leads to a perfectly lossless signal transmission. The use of oxygen-free OFC copper with 99.99% purity ensures that an extremely clear and lifelike sound can be reproduced. With the flexible PVC insulation of the sheath, laying and wiring is also possible in narrow and difficult places. Technical data: Length: 5m length - sold by the meter Sheath, external dimensions: Transparent PVC 3.9 mm x 8.2 mm (+/- 0.4 mm) Number of conductors: 2 x 4 mm² Strands per wire: 126 x 0.20 mm² OFC - pure, oxygen-free copper Marking of poles by polarity marking The benefits: Optimal transmission quality due to fine, tightly stranded copper strands High flexibility due to PVC sheath (not too soft or too hard) Easy installation due to memory effect Made in Germany - highest quality standards Possible application areas: Receivers, home theater, sound systems, stereo systems, audio systems, Hifi systems, speakers, PA amplifiers and car music systems.

Great cables and high purity copper cores
Looked every where for decent speaker cable, beware a lot of cables nowadays are copper coated steel (CCS) which is not a very good conductor of electricity and very stiff. These cables are made with high quality materials, real solid copper strands, reasonably soft and pliable. As an electronics engineer with decades of experience I highly recommend these cables. Very good quality and value.

Unless you know a hi-end dealer, start with these
There are people who think that all speaker cables sound the same. They just don't. Every cable will sound different with different amps and speaker combinations. So, most audiophiles know that buying high-end speaker wire is a gamble. They get the best results by knowing a high-end dealer who will let them try out different cables until they can make a decision. For the "mid-fi" or "low-end" component buyer, this process usually isn't practical. So, going for excellent "basic" wire is a very practical approach. What you're looking for is pure copper wiring, insulation and a gauge thicker than 16. At 11 gauge (the lower the number, the thicker the wire), this cable is very thick, extremely good basic speaker wire, it's insulated and 99.99% pure copper. Unless you're running exotic speakers or use an exotic amp (we're talking resistance, impedance, etc. here). these cables should deliver very good sound. I'm using them with a Marantz amp and Epos speakers and the system sounds excellent. Even, if you are headed for high-end cables, you might want to start with these, then see if the more expensive stuff can beat them in your system. At this price, this wire is a great investment - and probably all you will need.

Why Pay More
When I bought my HiFi set-up I spoke to a couple of people from HiFi stores who all said that I needed speaker cable that cost over £10 a metre! Although I appreciated their advice, I could not justify spending over a hundred pounds on speaker cable. So I decided to bite the bullet and go for this 10 metre length which cost in total £10. Now my set-up is up and running with the 'cheaper' cable, I have absolutely no complaints. The cable is heavy duty and well insulated. Most of all it does a great job and allows my sound system to come across beautifully. Therefore if, like me, you tend to cringe at the idea of spending a big chunk of your budget on some expensive cable then look no further than this one. Well worth 5 stars.

Good wire but you'll probably have to trim the wires (thinning them) to be able to connect.
It's decent wire but then I've never been one to spend loads on speaker wire. I will note, however, that the wires are pretty thick. I took that as a sign of quality. When wiring up to the Amp and the surround sound speakers, I had to cut about a third of the wires to be able to get it into the connectors. My more knowledgeable friends say this wouldn't affect the sound, and it does sound fine.

DCSk 11-awg OFC speaker cable
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01AT6I2CW/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0In regards of the quality of the cable it is extremely good. It looks as thick as any cable but it certainly doesn't feel light. The old monster XP OFC 2x2.5mm cable I am replacing is not half the weight of this DCSk 11awg 2x4mm.Its has decent quality outer insulation, looks really nice and is compact enough to run a couple of lines within some cable trunking.I have terminated it with some well known banana plugs and red and black shrink and looks like it will come out very well when finished.I suppose it will have similar sound characteristics as the Monster as it too was copper.Highly recommended for quality and value.

Good stuff, but mislabelled ?
Great value quality cable, but just make sure you order what you want by the AWG number. On the AWG scale, the lower the number, the 'thicker' the cable. So the less expensive AWG13 has fewer strands, and smaller external dimensions - but the core size on the page ( AND on the packaging ) is given as 5mm2, with the thicker AWG11 being labelled as 4mm2 - ie the wrong way round ( I think ! ).It's good stuff though, with a fine grey line on one side of the cable ( as well as the printing ) so you don't get the polarity wrong.

Excellent quality & value
Excellent quality & value. This is weighty, but flexible cable - and at 11 gauge, all that is needed for even relatively long runs. Cables have always been a topic of contention in the hi-fi world, but I think the consensus is that esoteric cables do no bring any advantages over decent quality & gauge, pure copper cable...which is what we have here...

Excellent and a bargain!
This cable is excellent. It replaced my long suffering Cable Talk 2 cables and I have been delighted with the results. Bass is good clarity is good and very musical and listenable. The 4mm cable fits very nicely into the Fisual Easy Fix plugs and the 2 fixing screws per plug ensure a secure connection.Using it with my trusty Arcam CD player, Nad 3130 Amp and refurbed Heybrook HB1 speakers. They have never sounded better. As others have said " A bargain".
