I love this PFD
I am very pleased and proud to wear my Astral PFD. As a competitive kayak bass angler, a proper PFD is vital. I chose this one for a handful of reasons.A few areas where it meets my personal requirements: comfort, aesthetics, safety certifications, size and location of pockets, adjustability, DurabilityI have been wearing this PFD for about 4-5 months, and it shows NO sign of wear.I give this product a 5 star review.. I am a fairly abusive man to my equipment. Not many products stand a chance against me, yet this astral PFD has not been phased whatsoever. The price point of their items is up there , where I generally would consider “out of range” however, if I can buy it once cry once - I will gladly spend that coin for quality. I’m fixin’ to make another Astral purchase, it may take me some time but I have my eyes on the Hiyak water shoe. Hey Astral if you need any outdoorsman pro-staffers up in Maine slide into my DM 😘

Looks great and comfortable with plenty of pockets
As the title suggests this is a great jacket. I reviewed the female version, the Linda, which is also great. For the price, which by the way I think I got a deal at $65 and free shipping, this is an amazing jacket. Plenty of zippers and pockets to store things like phone, keys, snacks, whatever. The material seems to be very good quality, breathable and today when it was full sun and 80 I still felt very cool. The high back is nice for kayaking and allowed me to paddle for 3 hours comfortably and did not impede movement. Some people have whined that it's bulky...but I'm not sure what kind of magic device could turn you over face up and bring you to the surface and not have some bulk, it's a life jacket so it really comes with the territory. I plan to update this review at the end of summer for more detail after it's seen some mileage. The final word for now is, if you need something that will keep you safe and add convenience to your kayaking or water sport experience for a great price this is a good bet. Props to Backcountry for the sweet goat sticker that's going on the kayak review for the Ocean Kayak Malibu II XL we bought. Have fun and stay safe!

Great vest!
I purchased the men's version instead of the Astral women's version because of all the pockets. I literally did not need to bring another bag, other than the food we packed for our kayaking trip because I had enough pockets for my sunglasses, phone and chap stick with room to spare. One of the pockets even zips out so you can stick a can of soda or beer in it and go hands free. I literally tried 20 vests in stores before I settled on this version, and my favorite feature is the flat back, so you aren't uncomfortable with a bulky pad against your back. For reference I am a 38dd bust and I bought the large -- adjustments are easy and I had no problem zipping it up. I don't own a kayak, so I rent them, but I was happy to purchase my own vest fitted just for me rather than use those nasty, faded rental vests -- two trips ago, the kayak rental company offered me one with mold on it! Never again -- having my own vest was worth the purchase price.

Comfortable PFD for fishing or recreational kayaking
Recently returned to kayaking following a 10+ year hiatus. Whitewater was all I used to do, although now, I’m more interested in longer trips and calmer waters, up to class 2. This PFD is comfortable to wear all day, although the front is a bit bulky due to the pockets. I purchased this primarily for the pockets, and the ability to have important items at my finger tips, so not an issue for me. The back extends down pretty far which shouldn’t be an issue for most kayaks but if you have a high back seat, there will be interference. Probably not the best option for high backed seats although I paddled a full day with it in the Jackson Tupelo and was never uncomfortable. I would recommend this PFD to someone fishing, or using a rec kayak which doesn’t have a high backed seat.

Just because it's not pink or purple doesn't mean it's not for women!
Love this life jacket! Went rafting and I stayed cool and it held my beer like a champ. Most importantly, I fell off the boat in a rapid and it kept me afloat with some lite swimming. The only thing I don't like is that it is specifically marketed for men as a "Men's Lifejacket." I am a 5,5 125 lb female and the size small fit me perfectly. Don't see why it's specifically for men.

If you see a bobbing red object...grab it...it's me.
Nice life jacket that was just what I was looking for. Wanted something with pockets like the kayak fishing styles but needed a US Coast Guard-approved PFD in something other than camo color. Seems well build and is easy on and off with the zipper. Adjustable straps for your shoulders and waist just need a tug to adjust to fit snugly.

Perfect lifejacket/PFD for packrafting
This is a perfect lifejacket for packrafting. It's cut in such a way that it doesn't interfere with the seat in the packraft or cause problems with your lower back, and the three pockets in front allow easy access to important items as you paddle. The jacket is also so comfortable that I barely even noticed that I was wearing.

Ronny Life Jacket
Great jack and very comfortable. This item is true to size even thought some reviews state differently. I’m 6’-1” 225lbs and the LG/XLarge fits great, and it can be adjusted to your body type very well. Would buy again in a heart beat and worth every penny.
