Frontier Co-op Organic White Onion Powder, 2 1 Pound Bulk Bags (Pack of 2)

I don know about you but I'm pretty obsessed with onion powder. I make my own powdered ranch mix and this is essential to that flavor. My family and I love onion powder and I insist upon organic and sourced from the US. This particular brand is a more mild flavor and doesn't cake as easily as mountain rose herbs powder. Keep some dessicant packets in the powder container for anti caking and use this stuff liberally. I may make it a few months before buying more. Good purchase

The Good:1. Fair prices can be found for this at least when I bought it.2. This is definately White Onion and has alot of clean healthy flavor. There is no chemical taste. Sometimes in the USA at least, I have heard of crops being sprayed with 'treated' waste water. I have bought whole white onions at stores in the USA and depending on where they came from, I could actually taste things that I am pretty sure are related to the 'treated' waste water. If you have looked at a onion closely, Most of its layers are like leaves of lettuce which meet at the end of the onion and this allows liquids that are sprayed on top of the onion to actually enter the layers of the onion inside (my theory). This is why I was able to taste the 'treated' waste water even after peeling off a layer or two of the onion.3. In the question and answer section for this product, people have answered that the frontier website says this is sourced in Egypt. I believe it is true because of the lack of chemical smell or taste and there is no detectable 'treated' waste water taste.The Bad:1. The packaging is some kind of plastic material that is not resealable. I believe all plastics have harmful chemicals in them. some plastics have more or worse chemicals than other types of plastics. I couldnt find any number on the bag that says what kind of plastic it was. Although this is a bad thing, its still a much better product than I have seen anywhere else so far.

I put onion powder in all my savory dishes, it's a must! Sometimes I can't be bothered to dice up my onions. Or I just need more onion flavor.Glad Frontier has it in bulk, I go through it like crazy. I put it in my own spice jars. Be careful not to use it over steaming pots or pans or it will clump, due to lack of anti-caking additives. You might even want to put in the freezer when it's humid out. This is the real deal.

I've bought several herbs from Frontier thus far, and as always, I'm satisfied with the quality and freshness of the product. And the value is incredible. For the price of about 4 tiny jars (which may not be organic) from the supermarket, I get FOUR TIMES THE AMOUNT OF PRODUCT and it is better quality. Will definitely order again. Tip: I refill my standard-size glass spice jar then seal the remainder of the product in a large vacuum Foodsaver-type bag to preserve better.

The only issue I have with this is the packaging. I really wish they would put it on a resealable container or bag. I feel like, got the price, that could happen easily. HOWEVER! This onion powder goes a long way with a little. It's extremely flavorful. Do good. There is no bitter taste to it, even if you were to put a bit on your tongue with nothing else... It's really that good. Do yourself a favor and get this..Don't bother with Walmart, Costco, or grocery stores for this!

This is one great product and it is so much easier to use than chopping onions. I used to buy a large plastic jar of onion powder and it would cake so badly that I would have to cut a hole in the container and run it through a food processor. So far, this has not caked, which is a big plus. Also... being white onion powder, it imparts a stronger flavor.

I love this powder when it's good. Been buying it for 3-4 years now, using in a packaged product. However, batches vary greatly and sometimes it's unusable. So my overall cost is probably 50% more than it should be, since we end up throwing so much of it out.

Best onion powder you can buy for the price and quality. I have never had a bad product from Frontier and buying spices and herbs this way is so much more cost effective and fresh. This is a fine powder but flows easily and is mixable without fillers. It smells and tastes like extremely good, fresh cut sweet onion.
