Q: Are these really savory pickled beets? How spicey? I don't want the sugary kind as this is for a Finnish recipe.

Correct, these are not extra sweet like typical southern style beets. We don't put any cloves, allspice, cinnamon or similar aromatics in them. The beets we use are a local and organic variety that are naturally sweet and then we flavor them with onions, garlic, jalapeño, peppercorn, coriander and tarragon. The spiciness can vary depending on the heat of the jalapeño, but typically are not extra spicy. But they do have a little jalapeño flavor. Hope that helps!
