Peets Coffee, Major Dickason's Blend, Whole Bean 32oz (Pack of2)

I've been ordering this coffee from Amazon for years. Yesterday, my bi-weekly shipment arrived in the same box with seed planting medium. While wiping the soil dust from the bags of coffee, I noticed that the "best by date" was last month.

As a patron of Mr. Peets since 1966 I guess I’m set in my ways. This blend is versatile and delicious: good for the breakfast cup and for espresso. I’ve never had over-roasted or flat beans. Mid range in price, top value.

We have have ordered the two-pack of Peets Major Dickason's blend (two, 32 oz packs) three times on Amazon. It is fresh, excellent tasting and, contrary to some reviewers claims, has current freshness dates on the packages. Be careful, though. Prices for this coffee vary widely among Amazon suppliers. During 2022 you could buy it around 50 cents per ounce at Costco and Sams Club.

Well, these just arrived and the date is ‘very current’...the value is great - I did not smell the bean as is generally the case when I receive beans by mail. The packaging was awesome, not a dent, ding or anything!I will edit this once I crack open the bag. But so far, they arrived quickly and by the stamp, they should be nice and fresh! Thank you.

Fantastic flavor and freshness. Ordered 6 bag and it winds up half the price of what I would pay at my local grocery store. One of the bags was split open when I unboxed but I notified the sender and it was promptly replaced. So I'd say that even the customer service is fantastic

UPDATE:Company refunded my money, which was not asked for. So that shows good faith. Maybe it was a bad batch?Was not sure what to expect with such a good price. It was satisfactory.Bag not airsealed upon arrival. No expiry. The bean itself shiny and aromatic. Ground well.The taste however is bitter. Maybe a little over roasted or stale.

The flavor is full bodied and rich, especially if you control the grind and use very finely ground settings. The downside is that it takes longer to flow through the filter so adjust quantity accordingly. The benefit is that the grounds stay in contact with the water longer leading to significantly more robust brew in the end. It is definitely worth it using these beans in particular since they are robust without the bitterness. Simply delicious coffee!

We been drinking this coffee for many years we love it. We've moved cross-country and it's been a challenge to find it locally. So I'm grateful for finding it here and at a decent price. Thanks.
