Good not great
Good product with a little bit of modifications to them. Got these for my senior dog who has had hip problems since he was a puppy. We have tile so it’s always been a bit difficult for him to avoid slipping when trying to stand from laying down. This has become more evident as he gets older. I’ve tried the stick on pads, those don’t last more than 3 or so days. I’ve tried the cotton socks with slip resistance pads, those are too tight and tend to give him blisters. These have worked awesome, with a bit of mods to them. Initially, the opening was very tight which caused his front paws to swell due to the lack circulation. So I fixed that by cutting about a quarter of an inch off of the opening of them. Worked great, they still stayed on throughout the day. But then I noticed that his paws would get super sweaty and thought that might be uncomfortable for him. So I cut a smaller hole, about 1 to 2 cm in diameter, on the opposite side of the opening to make them more breathable, and viola! These have worked like a charm! I try not to keep them on all day, that must not be too comfortable for him. When I’m home and able to watch him, I’ll take them off and help him stand if he needs it. But when I’m not home or at night, I slip them on and I can tell he has more confidence in his abilities to stand. Poor baby, there were times where I would arrive and see him struggling to stand, and it seemed like he’d been that way for some time. So these, along with the mods, have been a godsend! I can see he likes to have that ability to be able to again lay and sleep in the cool tile like he used to when he was younger!

Too tight around the top
Great idea! They work. They keep my BIG Dogs damaged nail from getting hurt again. The only negative I have would be that no matter the size I put on him, the top part is too tight. I can tell because his veins on his leg start getting big, like blood circulation is cut off. I did however cut about a half inch off the top and the boots and they seem to work better without cutting off circulation. All in all ....I'll keep them.

LOTS of consideration with this product
There are a lot of mixed reviews for these, They are basically heavy duty balloons. I live in Maine and I adopted a 6 lb chihuahua-terrier mix and want to protect his feet from road salt and from getting cut on the ice on our daily walks. I opted to try them for 2 main reasons - 1) my little rescue dog (to my knowledge) had not worn boots before so I didn't want to invest a ton of money in something he would reject and 2)I read somewhere that dogs get nervous if they can't feel the ground under their feet, so I thought the softness of these would be helpful to break him into the "feel" of something between his paw and the ground. Here are my thoughts after trying these with Rusty:1)I have an AMAZING little dog - VERY patient with me while I struggled to get the last balloon on his front paw, it just didn't want to go on! Once they were ON I carried him immediately outside and didn't have any hopes of going anywhere. I was just "practicing" but was ready if HE was. I waved his favorite toy around a few times and after a couple of crazy donkey kicks, he forgot about the boots, took his toy in his mouth and off we went for our walk! We walk about 2-3 blocks routinely.2)Consider the task of putting these on your dog as a 2-person job if you have a reluctant pet or one who is fussy about his/her feet. My Rusty was not thrilled but is SUCH a cooperative little guy that I managed to get them on by myself.3)If you have a pet with LONG hair or THICK fur, these MIGHT be impossible to get on... my dog has long hair but had just been groomed and I still did have a little trouble. its like trying to stuff a ponytail into a balloon - the stretchy latex wants to stick to the fur and resists pulling up over the dew claw.4)Puddles! I think to assume that your dog's feet will be completely DRY if they wear boots is a mistake. The boots really ONLY block ice & salt and maybe MOST of the water, but NOT all of it. Someone suggested using some of that self sticking athletic tape to pre-wrap the dogs ankle BEFORE putting the balloon on their paw, this might solve both the sticky hair problem AND the moisture getting in. I don't know for sure because we didn't try pre-wrap5) (HERE IS ONE I DID NOT CONSIDER AND I FEEL VERY STUPID!) Imagine putting your bare feet into balloons and walking through a puddle.Got that picture in your mind? OK - now imagine walking out of the puddle and trying to cross a patch of ICE... OH boy! SLIPPERY! Those little legs were flying everywhere! My dog was a MOST excellent sport and kept on going!Bottom line THINK about what you really need/want these for before you buy them. They aren't a fashion statement, that's for certain! They look REALLY silly and are a hassle to put on, but they DID work out OK. For me, they are "training" boots and I will probably go with the UltraPaws traction boots after we are completely comfortable with these.GOOD LUCK! I will try to get a photo of Rusty out trekking in his booties and post it later...

Great booty with a slight modification
My pup and I live in Colorado. She is a Border Collie with long haired hobbit feet and the snow turns into ice balls between her toes and she can’t keep going despite her desire to spend hours in the snow.I could not find any bootie that my pup would keep on - she managed to get out of everything we tried until I found these. They certainly stay on and she walks, runs and plays frisbee like she’s not bothered by them at all so they are comfortable and very functional. They are difficult to get on and I don’t think I’d be able to if she was a pup that resists paw handling. They are like heavy duty balloons which is why they are comfy for walking but her long hair gets tangled up in them and it hurts yo the point that she wouldn’t walk - just lay down and chew at them. To resolve that problem i use a strip of 4 inch self-sticking stretch gauze wrap around her ankle and then pull the booty on so the neck sits on the gauze instead of her hair. It works very well. See picture - she is wearing green gauze with the purple booty.I find these to be pretty durable- she can use the same pair for maybe 5 cold, snowy walks. One pack usually lasts a year. She seems to have a good grip unless on ice but it’s hard for all of us on the ice.Hope this tip helps someone else.

暑い夏のアスファルト、冷たい雪道これで少しは安心です。他の靴はすぐ脱げたりゴツくて嫌がったりしたけどこれは嫌がらずに歩いてくれます。

Much better than the boots you can buy.
My Springer Spaniel had a nasty cut on his paw that required stitches. I'd bought some boots which looked good but because his claws were long (despite being cut by the vet) there was no way the boots would stay on. I had even tried taping them on which was marginally better. These balloon things stayed on and he didn't seem to mind them being tight. I found it better to tape his paw first and ghen the balloon went on easier. However although the balloon wasn't punctured the foot still got damp. By the time I tried these it wasn't an issue but might have been straight after the operation when I had to keep the wound dry

Sizing very small
I followed the guide and based on my pugs paw size and x-small listed for pugs, I first got the x-small orange one and it was waaaaay too tight for her leg. No way would I leave it on her. The black is the next size up and as you can see, there's quite a difference between x-small and small. Much happier with the fit on her leg but the paw part is quite big. I don't mind as I just need them for hot spots or she recently pulled a nail as she is now 12 and her claws don't wear well and can snag.I hope this comparison helps. My pug is female and quite small for a pug. Slightly narrower legs to my jack russell. There's no way the orange ones (x-small) would fit the jack russell pictured on the box. Make sure they are not too tight.
