Big Brown Bear

We like the book. My son's favorite book to read to me. He's 6

"Thought it was good. I started to read." Reviewed by 5 year old customer.This is a cute story. It's not laugh out loud, but it's amusing. Brown bear is painting and little bear is playing. Little bear is not careful and paint gets on brown bear, turning him into blue bear. This happens a second time with different color paint. That's it.How the little bear get the paint on Brown Bear is amusing. I can't help but feel this ends abruptly. I wish there were either three colors of paint or one more part to this book. (Maybe the little bear helps paint?)My kids like it, but I don't think this will be read often once they get pass basic reading skills.The text rhymes and words are repeated throughout this book, which helps reinforce reading skills. There are a few contractions (it's, he's). "Paint", "little" and "windows" are the most difficult words in this book. There are mostly shorter words: he, goes, up, down, brown, blue, gets, comes, bat, big, etc. There is also a part with a word in italics, so this could be good for teaching empasis when reading aloud.

I love this book the pictures are pretty and the story is very funny, my daughter loves it. Recommend for reading beginners.

Great for a begging reader list for summer reading

I bought this book too early and at first my son didn't understand it at all. Now he is 20 months and he loves the book. It's simple, with a nice rhythm, and we play in reading the book, when he finishes the lines. I add some gestures, which might have helped, but he also loves the pictures in the book, which are not too bright, or too complicated. The pictures are just the visual expression of the words. And that's one of the greatest thing about the book.

The story is a cute one about a bear that does silly things. It has sight words and small words to help early readers.

My kindergartner loves this book. The words are easy enough. (he was at level D) and he thinks it is really funny. Very cute book and a great buy for an emerging reader.

Very sweet easy to read book. The illustrations are beautiful. The text rhymes and is great as a read aloud as well as an easy reader for my K classes.
