The clamp is large enough to be placed on most work benches. (2⅜" or 60mm) There's rubber on all 3 sides (inner) of the clamp to help get a stable grip. They've also covered the alligator clips with a rubber to protect whatever you are working on. These look removable. The arms are easy to manipulate, and seem to hold their position very well. I used a few things I had near my desk to test the arms sagging under a load. I used a 3½" speaker (4.7 oz), a bottle of hand sanitizer (10.5 oz), and a Chewbacca Mug (13.8 oz). The speaker held fine, the sanitizer dipped about ½" but held as well, but the mug was too much. Granted I was using only 1 arm, so I'm sure the results would be way better if multiple arms were used.My ONLY ISSUE with this would be the nylon bolts that are used to mount the arms to the metal base. I nearly cross-threaded my front facing arm while installing (see pic). It's too easy to do since you have to twist the entire arm to fasten it to the base. I would easily pay an extra dollar or two for these bolts to be metal.I gave 5 stars because for the price ($14.99 USD) it's a very handy tool. I would have given 4.5 stars for the nylon bolts, but if you aren't going to be removing the arms from the base very often, I don't think it will be an issue.

This set of helping hands is such a huge upgrade! My prior sets of helping hands are the traditional type with two short metal arms with joins and a weighted base. Those slid all over the table, and the arms were limited in their flexibility being metal, and it was awkward to try to use two of you needed more than two alligator clips. On the other hand this set has long, flexible plastic arms, made entirely of ball joints, which can bend a nearly infinite number of ways. It has four arms, which has been very useful, especially when you need to, for example, hold back a rubber waterproofing cover in addition to holding the parts being soldered. It clamps to the table, so sliding around is no longer even remotely an issue.The removable wrap on the alligator clips’ teeth are also a nice touch, protecting delicate surfaces. Because it includes two extra clips, and they feature tool-less swapping of clips, you can easily keep some with the rubber shrink wrap protection and some without, swapping as-needed. All-in-all, this is an excellent and very useful product!

It works for what it is - it is cheap, and well, feels like it too. Clamp is nice, but what I'd really love is to get one of these with the traditional metal arms. The plastic ones are not as flexible or willing to stay where you put them, they tend to spring back and it can take quite a few overcorrections to get them to stay just where you want them to.

It's like having an extra pair of hands.

The two-arm metal version is well-made and useful for small projects like soldering and small assemblies. This unit mounts security, and the arms and alligator clips work well. Many poor reviews apparently refer to the four-arm plastic versions. For example, in the plastic versions the arms are mounted by nylon threads into the base. In the two-arm metal version the threads (along with the entire unit) are sturdy metal. Recommend.

This is the extra pair of hands I needed for my projects! Flexible arms, clamps easily to workbench, holds even delicate armatures firmly without any marring, great helper!

One of the clips broke on first use. They included a spare, so that's a plus. Overall design is average, I'll probably end up gluing the clips to the arms because one of them gets loose easy. It was super cheap, so I got what I paid for and it does the job well enough. Super fast delivery.

The "claws" are a little too tough to grab some of the wires I was trying to hold with it, and they don't open wide enough to grip some of the plastic pieces I am working with. However, I believe this will come in handy on some projects. Clamps onto my desk tight, and the arms are sturdy enough!

I haven't used it much yet but is was handy to hold some wires I tinned. Also the clamp has a wide grip and I could clamp it to one of those ubiquitous plastic banquet tables.

Complessivamente sono soddisfatto, per quanto sia un po caro per quel che è.

A bit odd to have each flexible arm at 90° to each other, one in front and the other on top of the sturdy aluminium bracket. Plastic knob is adequate but feels cheep! Croc clips are too flimsy to hold well.
