I ordered 3 of these, expecting 5v 500ma as described. However they're marked as 5v 1000ma which is not what I wanted. And I specifically needed 5v 500ma for a project.UPDATE: I wanted to use these to power project boards that use very little current. However, these adapters are "smart". They will detect the current draw and apparently adjust their output when the draw is very small (like a charged battery). This change in output is indicated by the LED. If it's red then there is sufficient current draw, if it's green then the adapter switches its output to trickle charge. Which becomes an issue for my attached project board. I'm sure they will work fine for charging but not as a power supply for certain electronics.One last thing I'd like to note, the AC prongs are a bit on the small side. In some sockets such as extension cords the adapters have a very loose fit where others do not. This can cause intermittent loss of AC to the adapter.

It works, but. . . when in use FM is fine but AM (MW) is filled with static and totally unusable! Hard to give it more than 2 stars.

I cannot give a good rate of this product. I have not tried this product because for now, I do not need it for my Tecsun radio. It looks like this power adaptor doesn't work without batteries but only for charging.

Does what it is supposed to do, charges my radio.
