Exactly what is behind the wall and saving the wall from brutalizing it with holes
What a wonderful invention. I struggled to use the conventional ones. The walabot is a self-confidence way to know what is behind the wall. Pipes and wires run through studs as well. My new home has a lot of wires especially near the electric panel. Where I plan on hanging some tools that I use regularly. Thanks for the device that all my friends need to purchase instead of me constantly lending out. Not sure if they have real findings or just enjoy the device.

Accuracy of this product is great for DIY have use it to install TV on Wall. Easy to use and connects to your phone. Function as it should. Build quality is great this is my second on I have bought, I gave my 1st one to my son for his 1st home so he doesn’t hit pipes or wires in his wall. When he mount his TV on the walls

OK product
Works pretty good. It has to be calibrated every time you use. It only works on sheet rock. You cannot use it accurately on any other wall products

DYI, you need this in your Toolbox
Haven't had a problem. Spot on with exact image. Also, the bonus knowing when wires, cables or metal is present. A little costly but worth it.

Aweful, just aweful.
I wanted this to work out, I really did. The ideal is fantastic, being able to see what's actually behind the wall with some intelligence is what I wanted. But after I clicked the button I read a few other reviews, and the disappointment quickly set in.Things you need to know.1) This is extremely overpriced for the value that it delivers.2) It's almost impossible to use.Why they used WIFI for the connection is beyond me. Maybe, if you're in a house that has no other wifi it might hold a connection. I spent 30 minutes, THIRTY MINUTES, trying to keep it connected to get through the calibration. Even when I did that, the results were underwhelming. This should have been either a) Bluetooth, or b) a tethered connection for reliability saving on development costs too.It should also be magnetic so your phone sticks to it or it to your phone for one handed operation. As it is now, you need both hands, or maybe you can try to hold the things together while you mark the wall but that's just not easy to do.3) It's not reliable. It saw stuff that didn't exist. I'm fortunate to have an unfinished wall that I can access on the other side. I used that for testing, and just got even madder. No way I'm putting up with the usability issues for something that isn't even accurate.I ordered the other higher-end stud finder that's about $50 and couldn't be happier. It's being returned TODAY.

Know Before You Drill
Works great even through bathroom tile. I was able to see studs AND electrical wire locations before I drilled to mount a new grab bar. Removes any second guessing about what's behind that wall!!

It's a useful device but the interaction with iPhone is just terrible
As a stud, wire, and pipe finder, it's great. If, and that's a big if, you can get it on, connected and calibrated it'll wow whoever is watching you do your work. It basically takes raw scanner data and draws a visual representation of a stud or pipe. The bad news is that the user interface is annoying and you'll spend more time connecting and calibrating than actually finding studs. Last time I clocked it at 4 minutes connecting, failing, reconnecting, calibrating, and 30 seconds finding the stud. Whipping out an old "dumb" stud finder is literally five times faster. I don't fully blame the manufacturer here, iOS does seem pretty difficult to work with in general, I know this from other smart device installation headaches I've had.The problem with the wifi is two fold. For one, the device broadcasts its own WiFi network. iPhone doesn't like staying connected to WiFi networks that aren't able to access the internet. This means that whenever there's a delay in connecting, which is almost always, iPhone will interrupt you with a prompt to keep trying or try another network. It will also just straight disconnect without prompting. I would love to see an improved version of this product with a Bluetooth or some other means of directly connecting to your phone, even a magsafe ring and cable would be better. The other issue is with the calibration. I don't mind having to calibrate every time, what's really, truly, oh so very annoying is the fact that it makes you go through the calibration tutorial every single time. Somehow, the app remembers that you paired to the same device before, but seems to think you forgot how to calibrate. Please, please, please update the app so I can tick a box that says "I know how to calibrate stop making me click through 5 tutorial screens every time I open the app."
