If you blank either 1 or 2 you will not get the others responding in the way they need to for distribution purposes. I use 1, 2 and 3 for different parts of the garden. I leave 4, 5 and 6 unused. I have a controller set to give me three rotating areas being watered. Each time the controller clock turns off the water supply to the distributor the area being watered is changed. You must make sure that 1 and 2 will always allow the presure to reduce in the area being controlled and blanking 1 or 2 would prevent this and so you would not get the switching to different areas. I find that I have to allow a minimum of 5 minutes downtime between each port being opened as this allows the pressure to disipate to cause the distributor to advance to the next outlet. I have at times used all six outlet on different timer settings. the minimum number of areas to be switched for watering is two ie ports 1 and 2. The others are optional and can be set with the flow levers. It is a great product.

Q: Where does the master Unit (1000 or 2000) get placed using this device? Is 1 master unit needed before the inlet valve, or 1 per outlet (x6)?

The water supply comes into the unit, and you can have up to 6 outflow supplies which run one at a time. You need a controller on the water supply tap that can be programmed to run up to 6 sequences ie time on and for how long.

Q: Resetting it today after winter. Circuits 5 and 6 don't go close even with the toggle on off, any advice?

You need to set how many channels you wish to run. I run 2 so therefore select 2 on the programmer- channels 1 and 2. Then set them up. If 5 and 6 are not off maybe just disable them from coming on on the programmer- by not selecting any days for them to come on.

Q: It does not switch outlets - why is this?

Outlets are changed when the water flow is stopped changing each time. To use this easily you will need a gardening computer (the alternative is to manually turn the tap on and off). I have used this valve for the past three years and It’s the most reliable consumer switch I’ve used.I have two of the outlets connected with the others offline. I hope that helps?
