Q: How would you rate this hat against the tilley t3 wander

I don't know the specific Tilley to which you refer, but I did buy a Tilley for my Dad a few years ago, and I bought the Comhats for my husband late last year. How I would compare them is as follows: The Tilley is heavily-constructed, almost indestructible, it holds water very well and is suitable for hot or wet weather equally. A lifetime of use. The Comhat is of lighter construction, and is priced accordingly. However, it served my husband very well at the War and Peace Show last year, when we had the highest temperatures ever recorded in this country, and also torrential downpours. The hat survived without a scratch and served both functions well. It looks great and because it is so light, can be folded up and put in a pocket, so available for use at a moment's notice. I would recommend getting one, even if you have a Tilley, as it's a great backup, and if you can't afford a Tilley, definitely get one. Practical and nice choice of colours and designs; I went for the blue tundra; was very well-received, my husband won't go anywhere without it.

Q: Does this hat have a wire brim?

No the brim is reinforced with stitching. 6 rows. Slightly stiffened. My husband was pleased with it. He bought it for bowls.

Q: Is the hat with the chin strap the same as the others shown without it? Prices differ makes it confusing as to what I’m ordering??

I don't know. Mine has the chinstrap..

Q: I get cancers easily so need a hat that blocks uv. so how much of the uv rays does it block, i.e., uva, uvb and uvc ?

I honestly don’t know, I bought this hat to shade my eyes and forehead otherwise I get bad headaches. I have a thick head of hair and I always use sunscreen on my face and neck so hopefully I don’t leave anything to chance and I’ve not had any problems. I’m afraid I can’t advise you, sorry.
