Hilka PTDS280 280 W Detail Sander

An excellent sander, powerful and efficient. I bought this to replace an older less powerful one that had finally stopped working. At 280 watts this sander is so much quicker, making light work of sanding anything yet hardly getting warm. It is heavier but well worth the weight for the performance. I looked at various other brands and I reckon that this unit is great value for money. Recommended.

I was pleased with this sander, I brought it because at 280 Watts it has a lot more power than many of the other small detail sanders and I was pleased I did as it performs really well. I also prefer this longer design than a mouse type palm grip sander as it allows you better control in awkward areas like window frames and doors.It takes 'Hook & Loop' backed paper 90 x 90 x 90 mm (which is Velcro) this stays in place nicely, just be careful not to over use the edges as it can mess up your attachment pad, Try and sand flat on the face rather than the edges, Difficult sometimes But is the same for all sanders not just this one. It is only supplied with 1 sand paper but others are readily available quite cheaply.This is a decent sander at a great price. Happy Days.

I don't see the point in a detail sander having a small sanding head and a huge, heavy, cumbersome body that prevents you getting into the small areas that prompted you to buy a detail sander over a palm sander in the first place! Learn from my mistake and really pay attention to the measurements of this tool and open it on receipt so you can return it when you realise how unsuitable it is.

Bought this to replace an old FERM sander that finally packed up, this is twice as powerful and with a variable speed as well, same pad size so none wasted, its very good and a bargain to boot, well recommended.

Does the job well, not the best dust extraction but for what it cost its ok, I would suggest wrapping the hose housing in tape as mine cracked quite soon on but the tape solved this problem and doesn't affect th performance, huge selection on sandpaper grits that last well, not sure it will last foever but at this price i would buy again

Needed a sander to do some diy after my old one gave up (I had just bought sanding pads for it as well).this works fine ,only use it now and again so as for long term use i couldn't say but feels robust enough. The only problem i have is with the flat slide type switches that seem to be getting put on grinders etc and tools of this type instead of a trigger style,I find them fiddly to use. That being said that's just my preference and for the few times i use the tool i can live with it as I don't do much sanding. Bottom line ,does the job, reasonably priced & feels sturdy

I bought this as my mouse-type palm sander was too bulky to reach some parts of porch and furniture. It is quite heavy but did get into some of the areas needed, but not all. When will somebody bring out a smaller machine? Overall this helped my jobs and saved a lot of time so it was worth the price & I would recommend.
