They are very nice, easy to mount (please see the photo)
I'm replacing my old cat eye with this lights, and I tried it during the last 4 days. This light is very nice, easy to mount (please see the photo), and it works as shown on the listing (please see the video). It needs 3 AAA batteries, and it's got a threaded plug for them, with a little rubber gasket that prevents water from getting in, so the lights can be used without worrying about rain, puddles, or any water that could damage it. It would be perfect if it could be charged via USB, but anyway I'm pleased with it.

92% fantastic
I've owned the TK40 flashlight for several years now. It is wonderfully bright on the medium setting, more than adequate on the low setting, and almost dangerously brilliant on the high setting. It uses 8 AA batteries in a removable magazine, and I wish the battery magazine was better made. The body of the torch is a solid handful of machined metal that oozes quality. The new TK41 design moves the switch from a single button on the end to 2 buttons on the handle, which will make it more usable. I hope that they have not changed the medium beam angle that the TK40 had which was just about perfect; I want a flashlight, not a floodlamp nor a laser pointer.

Fenix TK41, excellent torch
Having owned this torch for over a month, I thought I'd write a review. If you've never used an LED torch before, or used a cheap one, this torch will amaze you.The beam on full power is so bright that it can illuminate things almost half a kilometer away. The centre of the beam is very bright, and there is enough spill to make it useful for just plain walking around at night. The pros:Most super bright LED torches use CR123A or rechargeable lithium batteries at the moment. This torch uses 8x88 batteries (although it will work on 4, too) making it easy to replace the batteries wherever you are. I'd hate to take a lithium powered torch away and find I had no access to mains electricity! You also get high capacity, so a longer run time. 8 AA batteries rated at 2900mAh each, compared to one or two lithium cells with roughly the same rating. Think about it!The construction is also brilliant, and it really can be submerged in water, as lots of youtube videos will demonstrate. The power modes are well spaced, and even the lowest brightness is adequate for walking around in pitch black, meaning you can use the torch for extended periods without worrying about battery life. Mentioning the power modes, there are 4 levels, and not 6 as advertised. Two of the modes are strobe modes, a high frequency strobe, and an SOS (it flashes SOS in morse).Another thing I really enjoyed is that the torch will not roll around if you lie it flat, and if you stand it on its tail in a room during a power cut, you can light the whole room. The cons: This torch is large, so its not the kind of light you'd find yourself throwing in your pocket just in case you needed it. This is because of the AA battery configuration.Overall:If you want a big torch, with easily replaced batteries and a long beam, and don't mind a large form factor, this is the torch for you.If you want a torch that will throw a really long beam, this is for you, too. However, the large beam may be ideal for searching for stuff, but if you just want a bright spill for walking around, you may want to consider something else, the narrow spot in the middle means that the maximum 800 lumens has been quite focused. For good spill from a fenix torch, you can try the small PD series. If you want the same light with lithium batteries, you can try the TK35.A fantastic torch all considered.

Almost Pocket Perfection
I'd been looking for a compact replacement torch for my Inova T4 as I needed something with a brighter beam.Needless to say, there are an awful lot of torches out there. The main specs for me included a bright and powerful beam, NOT dependent on Lithium CR123A batteries, a rechargeable option and sturdiness. So after a lot of messing about this Fenix TK41 came available and I took the plunge. The spec was certainly impressive:1) Up to 800 Lumens of illumination2) Brightness adjustable in four stages via a secondary mode switch3) Sturdy all aluminium construction with a Type III Anodised coating for durability4) Can be submerged to a depth of 2 metres of water ie waterproof to IPX-8 standard5) Regulated circuitry for constant brightness.6) Strobe facility-two modes selectable one at full power (useful for self defence as 800 lumens shone in somebodys face will disorientate them) and the other at 108 lumens for SOS Mode in Morse Code.7) An ultra clear, multi coated, optical glass lens at the front for maximum light transmission.8) Powered by 8 of the ubiquitous AA Batteries. Can use Alkaline, Nickel Cadmium, Nickel Metal Hydride or Disposable Lithium AA cell (Rechargeable Lithium AA Cells are NOT recommended!).My Fenix TK41 arrived nicely packed in a substantial plastic case and was supplied with a lanyard, spare 'O' ring, instructions and a warranty card.Loading batteries was easy. Unscrew the base, remove the battery holder, insert 8 AA batteries into the holder, reinsert the loaded battery holder and screw the base back on.Fenix have certainly gone to great trouble to make this torch as durable as possible (with some minor exceptions which I'll come onto). When loaded, it feels very substantial in the hand and as if it could take a knock or two.And the design is such where it will not roll when laid on a table for instance. The beam?Simply the BEST Beam I've ever come across in a torch of any description.Four levels of brightness, where the 'Turbo' mode is that bright it's untrue. The 'throw' is incredible, seems to go on for miles and miles in the pitch black-though in reality about 500m is the maximum effective outdoor range. And for me there is just about the right 'spill. In other words when shining the beam say whilst walking down a street the residual illumination afforded to the pavement whilst shining the main beam into the distance. The Strobe mode as mentioned could disorientate an attacker and this is easy to engage by pressing the power switch down twice in rapid succession.Fenix have also cut the rubbish here. Unlike others they haven't gone for multiple regulation and operation modes that require an encyclopaedia to understand and operate. And they have trumped their competitors by returning to AA battery power. This last point was the deal clincher for me.Any drawbacks?Well despite the overall formidable performance there are some little issues. In stark contrast to everything else here, the AA Battery Holder is AWFUL! It looks and feels cheap and nasty. Flimsy construction, batteries are a loose fit (just about OK) and the contacts ie the springs seem like they won't last long. Fenixreally should check out LED Lenser if they want to know how a decent AA Battery Holder should look and feel like. The other thing is the unscewing the base and the head assembly.Doing this results in a horrible grating sound. Now admittedly it won't happen too often but again LED Lenser, Maglite and Inova (in particular) have this issue licked. And if they can so can Fenix! Some other points to bear in mind though.Whilst it can operate on AA Alkaline batteries, this torch really is at its very best with High Quality AA Nickel Metal Hydride batteries. I would recommend Sanyo 'XX' 2500 mAH Eneloops for their outstanding capacity, durabilty and LSD (Low Self Discharge) characteristics. A high quality battery charger also has to be factored in here-preferably with a conditioning mode to keep the cells in tip top condition. Tecnoline BL700 and the Maha MHC-9000 are ones which spring to mind.Another point is that Fenix could do with offering some in-house power solutions. Although the beauty of this torch is the AA batteries, there is nothing to stop them offering a Lithium Ion power supply option. This product is unsuitable for unsupervised use by children, the beam on 'Turbo' mode really is that bright it could damage a child's eyesight. Finally does anybody know of a case for the TK41?So overall, the Fenix TK41 is a formidable lighting tool. Suitable for almost all uses and offering a exceptional combination of beam, durability and phenomenal cost-effectiveness.An almost compulsory purchase.WELL DONE FENIX!UPDATE-Testing this torch with various NiMH batteries has proved to me there IS a difference. The results I obtained from the Sanyo Eneloop XX AA LSD Cells were significantly better than the regular 2000mAh versions. It does state this in the instructions and it is right.UPDATE 2-Fenix have just released a version with a Cree XM-L U2 LED-with a claimed 860 Lumen beam. It does have an extra 60 lumens of light output. In practice this won't add an awful lot to an already phenomenal beam. Certainly not worth chucking out the older version or hanging on for this one to materialise.

Bello l'effetto.

Installation facile, beau rendu!
