Absolute worst

As a sound engineer of 18 years, I have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly of the mic stands. This is as bad as it gets; you see on the picture what came off the box. I am sure it fell in the truck or something similar, but each of the 6 enclosed stands had breakage of some plastic parts. Stands do travel to gigs on trucks and they have to have a level of durability but the sturdiness of this one is non-existent given that all 6 broke. Having received them this way - needless to say I am glad I did not have to find it out the hard way - at the gig, for instance.Cheers.

Rating 5 out of 6 stands!

I had one come damaged. That's it. I just put black duct tape on it (tention screw and plastic surrounding it broke off) and called it a day. It's now a stationary stand. I figured at least two would be damaged based on other reviews, but nope, just one.I bought these to sit in one place, and record my drums. Once set up, they won't be moved often. They are pretty sturdy for the price. Sturdier than some of the other reviews would have you believe. Just don't over torque the adjustment screws and they hold up well. Not much weight at the base but eh, 6 stands for this money is unbeatable. Boom stands at that as well!

Avoid these, not what they should be

We thought Ultimate Support stands would be great. These are not.The friction locks don't get tight enough to hold a SM58.We had to add counterweights to the boom because if we tightened the boom lock enough to hold the boom - like for a piano vocal (nothing odd about that) then 1/2 of the locks stripped out before the boom would stay up.Not at all what we wanted from Ultimate Support. They are inexpensive. But Ultimate should not sell a product (at any price) that does not work for its intended purpose.

Great for my rehearsal studio!

These are cheap mic stands. I wouldn't use them for touring, but they do the job in my home rehearsal studio. The price is right for a bulk pack.

Not the same stand as the individual (MCFB100) stands - these are not very good

I had bought two of the individual jamstand mic stands and was very pleased with the quality. Based on that experience, I ordered the 6pack and was really disappointed that these are not the same stands. Individual stands (mcfb100) have cast metal base and boom clutch and feel like good quality stands. These stands in the 6pack look the same in the photo but do not be fooled, these stands are cheap and poor quality stands. Plastic base and plastic clutch ... none of the thumbscrews or clutches work very well. Compared to the Griffin stands, these are much better (but those Griffins are the worst) - but these stands really aren't good enough. Your money would be much better spent buying better stands. These also have the really strong (toxic) smell that many cheap chinese products have - the better Jamstands models that I reviewed earlier were not like that. I wonder if they outsource their manufacturing to two different factories? In any case, these stands only "look like" real stands and they really aren't very good.

Low quality stands, but good value for the money

Six microphone stands for under $100 is a great deal any way you spin it, especially when it comes with its own bag. I needed a few more microphone stands for my rehearsal space and didn't want to spend top dollar because they would never leave my rehearsal space. So far, they've lasted me a year and I've had no problems at all, but I've been very attentive to treating them properly. As for build quality, I'd give it a 4 out of 10. They're definitely below average build quality and definitely wouldn't stand up to the abuse of being taken around places or on a tour. The boom ends don't have very much weight to them, so they don't hold big, heavy microphones very well, or even smaller ones when extended all the way. They do, however, work very well for background vocalists or room mics, or situations where you need a lot of stands and aren't necessarily worried about having the highest quality. For the money, it's hard to beat, and even if one or two break over the next year, it's still a good deal.

Cheap stands and you can tell

I wish I had spent a little more. I have a studio so it I'll probably get some use out of these but if I could do it all over again, I wish I went with a higher quality stand.Pros: great price, the carry bag is very convenient (although very thin and light weight - would not be usable for transporting to gigs on a regular basis).Cons: the worst part is that the 3 legs that fan out on the bottom do not lock in place. In fact, they don't even settle in place with out locking. I can literally bounce the stand a little (just a fraction of an inch) because the weight of the stand with the mic isn't enough to force the legs to fan out completely. If you pick the stand up, the legs immediately start folding in - the most frustrating part. They just aren't sturdy stands.

Reasonable quality for the price. Not even close to pro or solid feeling.

These are fine for what they charge them for. If you’re used to decent pro level stands on studio and in stage, these are going to be really flimsy by comparison. However, comparing prices I can’t really be upset. These are dirt cheap and got me through gig that required a lot more mics than usual.

If you buy them , don't expect them to last long, it's plastic.

One stand arrived broken, didn't expected much for the price, they will do for studio reccording but I would never take those on live performances..If you buy them , don't expect them to last long, it's plastic.
