WS Game Company Scrabble Luxury Edition with Rotating Wooden Game Board

If there was a 10 star option, I would select it. I love this board. I collect high quality wood board games and this one is truly outstanding!There are magnets in the board and base that allow you to turn the face of the board but then lock in once it’s turned.I am critical of expensive things. I believe if you are going to charge a premium fee, you need to deliver a premium product and this game board delivers!I cannot think of a single thing the could improve. I love it. My kids love it. I leave it out because it is so beautiful to look at and functional to play with.It’s awesome!

Beautiful set up.

I've been meaning to get a nice Scrabble set for quite some time. I've played on the older "vanilla" Scrabble boards. They do the job, but sometimes I just want something nicer. A conversation piece, if you will.When I received this Scrabble game in the mail, I was excited. I spoke with some family and we decided to put it to use that very same night. I must say, it was every bit as good as I'd hoped it would be. The Luxury faux-ivory tiles sound great and are easy to shuffle in the bag. They look good on the beautiful wooden board. I've had no issues with the golden grid on top of the board, either. The entire set looks very classy and elegant.I've had no durability issues, either. I'm able to play with confidence, as the entire set appears to be solid and well-made. I hate playing board games where I'm afraid if I place a piece too hard it will break or crack something. This game is not flimsy like that at all. The turning board is a nice touch, as well. If you are playing with 3 or 4 people, each person can see the board upright during their turn. It makes the game of Scrabble even more fun and relaxing.All in all, I'm more than pleased with this purchase. Thanks to this edition, I no longer need to worry about upgrading to a "better" Scrabble set in the future.

After 11 years of playing nightly play on the Onyx edition board, this game is a significant upgrade and pleasure to play. The thing I like the best about this edition is the tiles that are faux ivory. They beat the pants off of the wooden letters that peel and fade. With our last Scrabble game we had to replace the tiles multiple times because they did not hold up. The storage drawer is nice also to keep everything you need out of site. The rotating board is removable for cleaning. The faux letter bag is also better than the typical fabric bag that shows dust and lint. This game is more like a piece of fine furniture. We are very happy with it and look forward to many years of game play.

As avid Scrabble players, we evaluated several "luxury" sets, but found all but this one wanting. It is well made, well designed, and a joy to use. We replaced the tile bag with one we had (the bag that comes with the set is too shallow), but other than that, the set is fine. No, it's not very portable, and it is expensive, but for players who play a lot, this set is the way to go. The glass set, which we had for a while, has tiles whose letters rub off over time, and the other luxury sets, while copies of this one, are poorly constructed of cheap wood. If you can afford this set, and you play Scrabble more than occasionally, buy it.

It's a really nice board overall. I do wish the lazy susan part was not so magnetic - it locks it well in position but just doesn't glide into position as smoothly as I think it should.. it's just engineered interestingly - uses magnets to keep it locked at each 90 degree turn.. It's not a smooth glide which is what i expected.. It isfunctional and the tiles do stay in place fine. there is no glue or shoddy worksmanship overall. One thing i do definitely dislike are the tiles. they are advertised as "faux ivory" which means plastic apparently. they are slippery and the faux leather bag is cheap feeling and stiff.. I think it'll break in and get softer with use - i'll update if so.. I think a nice velvet string bag with wood tiles would really be a LOT nicer.. I am looking for a replacement now just in case.. or if the manufacturer would like to send a replacement I wouldn't refuse it. ! lol. I gave it 4 stars on the off-chance the seller sees it and wants to exchange or can sell me for reasonable a nice set of wood tiles with a velvety bag.. come on ws games send me tiles that are as nice as the board.. otherwise.. I'd say get the less expensive one if money is an issue. I can't imagine i got another $100 in value for this set vs the premium edition one but i didn't but the less expensive one first to directly compare.

I am prompted to write this review because I believe that the poor reviews this game received were written by folks who were perhaps reviewing the wrong product. This is clearly a very high quality game, as opposed to many poorer quality options available in the $100 price range. The workmanship is top-notch. I don't know why the one reviewer is having trouble with uneven legs, but perhaps the table is not level, and if it is a true problem, then I'm sure the company would be happy to remedy this. As for the reviewer who is worried the rotating peg is a choke hazard, the peg is very firmly attached on my game, and even if it weren't, this isn't a child's toy. Perhaps the reviewer needs a course in Childproofing 101.

To play scrabble with this Luxury Scrabble Game is a treat and a special experience. The wooden letter pouch is made of a high quality royal blue velvet and the score book is a perfect size. If anyone loves the game of SCRABBLE then this Luxury Scrabble Game is a must have! My husband and I have even placed it in our front living room as an impressive center piece on our elliptical table! Yes! this was a brilliant and more than worth while gift! Bravo for the manufacturer! It is expensive but more than worth every dollar!
