Works as expected. Don't expect to keep a determined thrif away just detour them.

For the price it is good quality. there are more expensive ones that are thicker and heavier leading me to believe they are a more secure option. But for my needs this lock is plenty good.

This lock works great and is a great value but it is NOT the same quality as a name brand unit that costs many times as much. The metal that the body is made of is very light weight, I don't even know if its aluminum it might be zinc or pot metal. It almost has no weight too it at all. The chrome bail is steel and has good weight to it. I used this in conjunction with a screw-together hitch lock so that I had two individual locks on my hitch on a long road trip I took. It is easy to use but I would not trust it against serious thievery. I used it to prevent someone with a big bolt in their hitch from being able to pull a locked coupler. I think a crow bar would be able to pry this off in a few minutes or maybe even break the main body of the lock, but again, combined with a second lock on the coupler it gave me additional piece of mind and will prevent someone from quickly taking off with your trailer.
