Really great alternative to slot cars!
So weve got slot cars a plenty and my kids have become quite the expert at them. Everything from driving them well to assembling tracks and understanding how things need to meet together. However one of my kids saw a commercial for these so he had to have it. Considering the cost I couldnt say no. So let me start out with some pros/consPros:-They are magnetic and stick like glue to the track-Long battery life for the cars-Nice compact complex track for racing (takes up very little room)-Lots of funCons:-Controllers are Infrared and not RF so you have to point them at the actual cars-Controllers have a learning curve. Not sure why they went with the crank type as opposed to standard pistol type-Videos show kids cranking the controller, however only very little movement is necessary and the cars are screaming down the track-Track is time consuming to setup with lots of squeezing and pinching and some various curse words thrown in for good measure. All in all this little track is a blast and the kids love it. If you master the controller and get the track assembled correctly its fun for hours. The cars charge quickly and last a long time. The cars are also blisteringly fast. Much faster than my reaction time, however my kids have mastered it and do much better than I.

Missing parts
Open christmas morning and went to put it together and we are missing so many pieces we can't make the track. Kids are so disappointed.

Be prepared to spend time on assemby
When you get your racetrack and cars, be prepared to not be able to use it immediately. It will take a while to put together. One of the things I like about the track is that you have multiple options for how to construct it. Do you want the death defying 360° loop or break those down to make curves? The kit comes with connectors to use to put the track together the way you want it. This aspect of the toy will allow for kids to be creative. You get two controllers and two cars, and kids will have a blast with how easy they are to control. Hours of enjoyment in this brightly colored almost translucent set. It would make a great gift for the little engineer in your life.

One car and remote didn't work!
It's a great racetrack and is fun but one of the cars and remote for it didn't work. It's supposed to be a race so it's disappointing when only one car can go. I bought it for Christmas so when we discovered it didn't work the return date was past. I've tried contacting the company but haven't heard back.

Cool, retro type of track, Kids love it!
The media could not be loaded. It’s kinda of difficult to put together, but once you do the kids will love it, the cars are magnetic so they stick to the track rely good. Also you can control both cars with one controller or flip the switch on the bottom of the car and race each other, the faster u wine up the controller the faster the cars go. You also can put the track together in different configurations, very cool!

Really fun, but initial setup is a little involved
This is a really fun racetrack we got for our 5 year old. I was a little surprised by the initial track setup. The track has a total of 114 pieces. I posted a picture to give an idea of the amount of pieces. This is not a track that should be disassembled after each use. So find a semi-permanent place before you begin setup. The remotes do not come with batteries but the cars are rechargeable with an included USB cord.Once the track is assembled it is not too complicated for our 5 year old. He loves it. The faster you spin the crank on the remote, the faster the cars run the track. All the pieces are a very sturdy plastic so I feel like it will last for a while. I would recommend you do not lose the instructions because if it ever needs disassembled, you will need the instructions again. Overall this is a fun racetrack that is fun for the siblings to play together, doing different types of races. I would recommend this for purchase.

One of the two tiny race cars would not charge
This was definitely a challenge to build. As you can see in the pic, it comes with a large instruction picture page that explains the order in which you assemble what at first seemed like a daunting task. I suggest laying all the pieces out on a table and putting them in like piles. If you do not, you will spend lots of time digging through the piles of plastic trying to match the piece with the picture on the instruction page. Once you have them organized, it gets easier. Also, it took some time just figuring out how the tracks snap together. Once you get that down pat in the beginning of the process, things start getting easier. In order for the cars to go smoothly and not jump off the track, the tracks have to be snapped together EXACTLY flush with nothing sticking out even a tiny bit. Once assembled and we started sending the car along the track we had to stop many times where it flew off to correct a track piece that was not exactly flush with the next one and the black connecting piece. You will be constantly referring back and forth with that picture page. The instructions are clear enough, but not all that intuitive. You will have to figure out some things on your own, but nothing unsurmountable. This is not for a toddler... even with adult supervision I would say at least an 8-10 age range or more. As you assemble, it does get easier as you figure out HOW things connect, and eventually seeing the big picture of how it should eventually look. That said, give yourself at least an hour or more to assemble it. Patience (that my 9 year old grandson doesn't have a ton of) is needed during the assembly process.Once you have it all assembled, after charging the cars, and putting two AA batteries (not included) in EACH controller, you are ready to play. One thing, it only comes with ONE ubiquitous standard 15inch long micro-USB cable, but both cars need charging every 15 minutes, so a second USB cable will be needed or you'll be waiting even longer while charging. Now the reason for only three stars! Unfortunately, one of the two cars would not charge. You are supposed to turn off the A-B switch AND the on/off switch under the car and plug into a USB outlet. When that happens the car lights up RED until it's charged. The one car did this as it was supposed to, but the second car would not light up, nor would it charge. I fiddled with the USB connection, fiddled with the tiny on/off switch, gave it a few "taps" against the table thinking perhaps a loose connection. No dice. It was dead in the water. I then tried a different USB cable, but to no avail. It was dead. Bummer. My grandson and I put the one working car on the track, to see how well it worked going sideways "defying gravity" as it advertises. It does this using two magnets on th bottom of each car, which hold it do the metal rail on the tracks and it works well. You turn a crank on the controller to make the car go forwards of backwards. The faster you crank, the faster the car goes. At some point if you go too fast, it flies off the track. So, was looking forward to racing side by side with my grandson. Alas, with only one car... that didn't happen. Too bad. This looks like it could be serious two person fun.
